Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes picking the right place to order high quality meats from is hard. So we've made it easy by answering some of commonly asked questions.

Our Beef

Do you administer any antibiotics or vaccines to your cattle?

We vaccinate our cows with Bovishield Gold and our calves with Enforce 3. These vaccines ensure overall herd health and they are both accepted by both the Beef Cares and the GAP4 Programs we’re certified by.

Does your cattle receive any mRNA vaccines?

We do not administer mRNA Vaccines to our cattle and we have no intentions of doing so in the future.

Does your meat contain GMOs, preservatives, or antibiotics?

Our beef is 100% GMO, preservative, and antibiotic free.

What breed of cows do you raise?

Our herd is crossbred with lines of Angus, SimAngus, and Brahmas. We carefully choose between the lines of all of these breeds health and hardiness of our herd, while also prioritizing the taste and texture of the beef we produce.

Do you process your animals yourselves?

Our meat animals are processed in Jefferson, Georgia at a family-owned, USDA-inspected facility called Potts Meats. This is the only traveling our cows ever do, and the trip is kept very short. This prioritizes the health and comfort of the cows while also supporting another local agricultural business.

Is your beef grass-fed?

Our cows are grass-fed and grain-finished. This means that they have free access to high-quality grass for their entire lives. For a few weeks before processing, they are given the option to eat high-quality, nutrient-dense grains as well. This improves the marbling and the flavor of the meat, while never compromising on the health or comfort of the cattle.

Do your cows ever live on a feedlot?

Our cows never see a feedlot. They only ever live on our farm.

Orders must be received before 7pm EST on Monday for the order to be shipped out on Tuesday. Our team hand packs and ships each order every Tuesday.

When will my order ship?

We ship ground orders every Tuesday. Shipping later in the week can lead to delays at distribution centers over the weekend, which may spoil your shipment.

How will my order arrive?

Your order will arrive in a cardboard box, lined with thermal panels and dry ice at the bottom to keep the food at a safe temperature while in transit. Leave the dry ice untouched in the box, and it will quickly evaporate on its own.

Does someone need to be home when my delivery arrives?

Please make sure someone is home during the estimated delivery date/time. These are perishable items and can go bad if left out in the elements for an extended period of time.

How are the meats packaged?

Each item (if refrigeration is required) are flash frozen and individually packaged in vacuum sealed bags for easy and quick defrosting.

The cuts of meat should still be cold to the touch. While some may still be frozen, thinner or smaller cuts may have started to defrost. Defrosted cuts should still be clearly cold to the touch and look appealing.

If you notice liquid at the bottom of the package, don’t be alarmed. This liquid is a natural and harmless mixture of water and protein from the meat.

How do I find my tracking number?

Your tracking information can be found on your order completion email. If you are unable to find your tracking number, please email us at littlespringscattleco@gmail.comfor assistance.

How much does it cost to ship?

Our packages and bundles all weigh different amounts and have different shipping rates based on the weight of the item. The best way to find accurate shipping for a specific package or bundle, please add an item to your shopping cart and go to checkout and enter your shipping address for the calculation.
